Remembrance

As we approach this Memorial weekend, tale a couple of minutes each morning and before bed at night, to spend some time with your memories of the people who have made a difference in your life. Then ask yourself are you making a positive difference in others lives !!! Let’s not forget the men and women who paid the ultimate price and asked for nothing in return…

Play Your Game

Lakers lose in a big way— I don’t get it, maybe it’s me. However I have seen a good couple a games in hockey and B ball where teams didn’t show up. For goodness sake, with the amount of money they are making, they should be exhausted, sweaty and tired by the end of the game—- why do I bring this up,  Because I love sports, the other reason: give everyday your best…..

What  you would like to do with your life is not always what you are doing at this moment. What you are doing at this moment  is not  necessarily what you would like to do in the future. Sounds confusing, it is, so how do we know what to do and when. What I say is” don’t worry about it” and just follow what makes you feel alive and beneficial to yourself and mankind and everything else will fall into place.. Just don’t put a time frame on where , when and how it will happen.

Namaste !!!!

King For a day

What about those Kings—Sweep. One of the best traditions in all of sports is the handshake. This is done at the end of the game. Both teams line up and go through shaking the hands of those same players they had to do battle with.

I think we should all  line up ans shaking hands at the end of yoga class..  Shaking hands with co Yogi’s

Namaste !!!

Good Read’s

Great suggestions for book reading—The Game–   Hockey :  Ken Dryden

How to Heal Back Pain  —- Dr John Sarno

Outliers ———————- Malcolm Gladwell

What they all have in common is that it takes work and persistence and patience.   When we do the work learn to empower ourselves and the sky’s the limit !!! Have a great weekend. Namaste !!!!

Your Garden

Think about this— Before we start growing veggies, we have to make sure the soil is just right. Also the   sun light has to be present. So needless to say planting takes planning. Which leads us to this little exercise for the weekend. Get in a relaxing position, laying or seated and close your eyes and start to breathe in a relaxing way. Start to visualize  what three traits that you would like to cultivate in your life.  Make sure to see each one clearly and notice the energy attached to them.

Then imagine that you are planting a garden and pick three veggies that coincide with each characteristic. Now plant the seeds and make sure you cultivate the right environment for these plants. After some time they grow and you are able to take a piece of the three vegetables that have grown—– connect veggie with traits and take a bite and feel the energy passing through your body. Do this two more times and feel how each one affects you…… Notice all the little molecules circulating through your body, mind and spirit !!!!

Make sure to keep your garden in you mind, body and spirit fertile to germinate your fantastic seeds for your plants “

Namaste !!! By the way what did you plant—in class today many planted tomatoes.

TAMPA, Fla. — In a symbolic gesture, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Rutgers defensive tackleEric LeGrand, whose playing career was ended by a spinal cord injury, on Wednesday morning.

Leading up to the draft, I couldn’t help but think that this should’ve been Eric’s draft class. … This small gesture is the least we could do to recognize his character, spirit and perseverance.

– Tampa Bay coach Greg Schiano,
on signing Eric LeGrand

LeGrand played for Tampa Bay coach Greg Schiano at Rutgers. In a game Oct. 16, 2010, against Army, LeGrand suffered fractures of two vertebrae and a spinal cord injury.

Schiano called LeGrand’s mother in New Jersey to let her know of his intention the night before breaking the news to his former player.

“I said, ‘Are you serious? You want to do this?’ He said: ‘It’s the least we could do,’ ” LeGrand said Wednesday during a conference call. “I said I don’t even know what to say to you right now, coach. This is amazing.

“It’s something I always dreamed about, go to the NFL and retire and become a sportscaster,” LeGrand added. “Dreams do come true if you really believe. You do the right things in life, good things happen to you. He really just did this out of the kindness of his heart. It’s really what he wanted to do. I had no idea this was going to happen.”

LeGrand initially was told he would be a quadriplegic and would have to remain on a ventilator.

Five weeks later, LeGrand began breathing on his own. Later, he became able to stand upright with the aid of a metal frame.

LeGrand resumed his studies in spring 2011. He led the Scarlet Knights onto the field for an Oct. 29, 2011, game and has remained close with Schiano.

“Leading up to the draft, I couldn’t help but think that this should’ve been Eric’s draft class,” Schiano said. “This small gesture is the least we could do to recognize his character, spirit and perseverance. The way Eric lives his life epitomizes what we are looking for in Buccaneer Men.”

The Buccaneers also decided to make the signing May 2, to represent LeGrand’s college number (52).

He put up a photo of a Tampa Bay helmet on his Twitter page, tweeting, “We ready!!!”

“It’s a symbolic gesture. They can’t give me any money with the salary cap and all that kind of stuff,” LeGrand said in his conference call. “It’s symbolic, something coach wanted to do and I appreciate that. It just shows the man that he is.”

LeGrand is planning to graduate this fall with a degree in labor studies.

I hope this morning is exactly what you created it to be. So are you the ball or the brick? Well some days I’m definitely a brick which is being very thick headed and not open to any other energies around me.  MY LOSS. Then there are the days where my ego, senses and desires pull me all over the place, Not grounded at all.

Thankfully, and as a result of doing the right stuff for my body, mind and spirit I find myself strong and flexible— I’m present enough to feel and notice signs and energies, but also steady enough so I don’t get to caught up with all the externals.

So I’m not a Brick or Ball— But very much like a HOCKEY PUCK—- WHICH NEEDS FORCE TO MOVE IT, BUT WHEN IT DOES IT GLIDES BEAUTIFULLY ON THE ICE !!!!

When you read this close your eyes and visualize a special object for yourself.

Namaste !!!1

Good Morning, treat yourself to a nice hug !  I was sitting quietly for a couple of minutes right after I had worked on some performance core control movements. I did some stuff on a swiss ball and got to think about friction and the amount of force needed to move objects.

Take the ball for instance, not much force is needed because the ball does not create that much friction on the earth. However I had been doing a bit of yard work and I was trying to slide a big rock across the floor. This was tremendously difficult, because the amount of force needed  had to be enough to overcome the friction and weight created by the rock. On the other hand If I was a ball there would be very little friction I   So the biggest question is are you gong to be a ball and  be influenced by the everything or a heavy rock that doesn’t move

Exercise: Get in a comfy seated position   notice the sweet sound  of the air going in and out of your kifr.—- ” Ask this  the question”  — how do I feel right know—

Then I started thinking, would I like to be that immovable ball  or the heavy stone.

What a great sunday— stayed  in my P.J’S until 12 noon. Then watched the Flyers win in O.T over the not to liked Devils. After did some house painting and finally  a Yoga meeting for The Professional Program.  Know that’s a full and fantastic day !  The only reservation I have is, what if my hockey team lost–then my whole day would have been very disappointing. Which is completely against what I  teach and  try to practice  ”  practice with no attachment to the result or fruits of our labor.”

So I would like all of us to take a couple of moments tonight or in the morning and close your eyes and start to feel your breath moving through your body like a positive flow of energy— notice how warm and nurturing it feels— then, say these words to yourself —- I will be fine  if I don’t get  ………. you fill in the blanks,  About something you really feel you need .             Say it five times— let it affect you…… and you will soon realize that you are the same person at that very moment. You didn’t really need that thing for your survival. Namaste !!!!
